Groove Music taking way too long to new sync music

I've been holding off on complaining about this because I know they're working on it, but they really need to straighten this out before RTM. I'm seeing extremely long (sometimes hours) waits in between adding music and it actually showing up in Groove Music. I had the same issue with Xbox Music and I just can't understand why. It was nearly instantaneous with Zune.

I can't be the only one with this issue. Everyone else's music syncs right after they add it?

For me pretty much so, if for example I add an album to my collection on my desktop, it downloads to my Surface Pro 3 as soon as it has downloaded on the PC, the Stream 7 takes a bit longer but it is a much slower storage device. My phone (1520 now on W10 10512) will have the album in the list about a minute or so after I launch Groove and I can download it straight away.

Just has I posted the last one it came to me, there is a strong possibility that Xbox/groove has got it's knickers in a twist regards what folders to store music on.

We had this issue one if I remember one of my wife's devices as someone had mapped a shared network drive to share music across devices and it caused all sorts of delays and problems.

Worth having a look at what folders groove is using to store music and maybe tidy it up.

And just for the record I have spent the last couple of hours doing a bit of a spring clean on my phones music collection as there was still some stuff on the phone that I had deleted from the PC's and OneDrive.

During this process I deleted a couple of albums that showed up as various artists when in fact they were bought as "Who" albums, but technically correct in being various.

I then re-added both Tommy and Quadrophenia to my collection and both downloaded across devices and on the phone showed up in the collection but would not download saying I had already downloaded on too many devices.

When I checked devices it shows 4 one of which is my phone but it says it is WP8 and not 10, and I now have 5 albums that have not downloaded to my phone and they are all ones I have added since I put 10 on the phone, could be a bug there.

However the syncing bit was almost immediate.

Adding music to Groove has always been instantaneous for me, even before hard resetting. Maybe try dragging the files alone (instead of having them in various folders) into the music app and leaving it to index them appropriately

That's not going to add them to my phone. I'm not talking about my collection on my pc, I'm talking adding them to my phone from my pc.

Unless some setting I can't find..I did a hard reset yesterday and 24 hours later..nada. I am logged in to both Groove and one drive. Anything else I might have overlooked?

Battery saver mode? Plugged and connected to a stable WiFi connection?

Was plugged in all night and connected to stable wifi then and now. Not in battery saver now either @61%

You should just close out groove music and open it again. It will load the new files when it's opening.

I am having this issue on mobile. I have nearly 40,000 songs on my SD card. Groove starts adding new music, then the screen locks, I unlock it, and it usually starts again which is rather infuriating. Furthermore,, and this may be because I am on the Slow ring, not sure, but whilst syncing is in progress, and Groove is running in the background, it is using up 95% of my battery. That is insane.

Syncs fine for me as well. I mostly download on my Surface, and it's reliably on my phone momentarily. It's reliable enough that I rarely check whether or how quick any more.
