Guide for Creating Custom Ringtones

After several hours of playing around, I figured out my issue and I am good now.

So how did you figure it out and what was the solution? Inquiring minds want to know (for future reference)

I have been trying for months to find a way to make a custom SMS tone for my LG quantum with no luck. I was able to add custom ringtones but I am unable to use them. I want a custom SMS tone so I can set my text to silent and vibrate while my ringtone is set to vibrate and full sound. I hope someone knows how to do that. My phone is always silent/vibrate because texting is supposed to be discreet and to turn the volume on for my ringtone will cause my phone to ding when I receive a text. Please help if anyone knows a way to fix this. Thanks.
