Hard reset and SD card

Hi, i want to hard reset my phone but i have a few questions concerning my sd card
1. will the hard reset wipe my sd card if so the rest of my questions don't matter.
2. will the apps and app data installed on my sd card just reinstall back onto the phone after
3. this is mostly concerning whatsapp will the back up also back up the same number using or will i have to redo activate the number(a friend of mine said that he didn't have to and i just want to be sure) and will my chat history come back.

The SD card will survive the hard reset unless you check the format sd card box while initiating the hard reset.
I think you'll have to reinstall any apps that were installed on the sd card. I don't use that feature myself so I can't be 100% certain.

Whatsapp backs up. Just to Be sure check your sd for any whatsapp or winphonebackup folder

Yeah I saw that folder I think its for messages I want to know if my number will be the same or will I have to change cuz I'm aboard for school for a few months and rather not change my number again.

You need to reput your number in the box. Then whatsapp restores a back-up
