Have a Nokia 1020 on ATT, desperately want to switch to T-Mobile. How can i do this?

Nokia Lumia 1020 network locked by Vodafone UK - no help just automated messages

Hello anybody that can help will be my "Superman hero".

I bought a Nokia Lumia 1020 from a gumtree seller in the UK, I checked the IMEI number of the device several times for legitimacy and if the phone was paid in full with no obligations. Everything was in order and legit. I have tried to get this phone unlocked since the 15th of October sending email after email after email to Vodafone, every time I get the same automated message. I've tried the att route but with no joy. I have already tried 3 companies that claim they can unlock the Nokia Lumia 1020, no luck again, 2 of them at least refunded me, the 3rd disappeared into thin air.

I am now at a stage where I wonder if I should chuck the Nokia in the bottom drawer and leave it there as it seems to me that Nokia the brand will soon also end up in bottom drawer of Microsoft....

If there is anyone out there that can help PLEASE!!!!!

I would try the Straight Talk like the one person was saying, its cheaper than dirt. You're using AT&T's towers so you'll still get the higher data speeds like you would normally on AT&T, without the Gigantic price gouging that they do. T-Mobile always sounds good on paper but in the real world you'll usually be without data, or data so slow you'll give up on the page loading after 5 minutes.

Straight talk throttles and depending on where u are, they throttle always. I have am ATT iphone 5 from work and ST for personal and running speedtests with both, my 1020 cannot get speeds higher than 9Mbps while my ip5 goes higher always and sometimes by a lot so the bandwidth is there. My Lumia just cannot go higher than 9Mbps. I'm in the Bay Area, CA.
