Have Installed Windows 10 but Reverts to Version 8.1

I have installed version 10 3 separate times but each time it reverts back to version 8.1. I've gone through the download and install. It checks my computer and makes me agree to the installation. It then tells me to sit back and wait. I have gone away and each time I come back, I see my old login screen and when I login, I have version 8.1.
I have never sat and watched it the entire time - perhaps it shows some sort of error. I will probably do so tonight. For the last install I disabled my firewall and antivirus thinking that might help.
Any suggestions?

You are using your computer to install Insider Preview W10?
You have to do it on phone. Install Windows Insider app and then set that up...check for updates and there you go !!!

This is on my desktop computer, not my phone.
