Hey All!
I don't think Kevin has given a proper introduction to most of you, so I thought I might as well pop in to say hello? My name is James Falconer, and I'm the latest addition to the Mobile Nations team. My focus is going to be on all of the FORUMS around the Mobile Nations network, and the WPCentral Forums is at the top of my list. While I don't have a formal 'title' just yet, I think it's safe to say you can think of me as the guy that is setting strategy, direction, best practices and policies for our forums. I don't want to interfere with ANYTHING you guys are doing, but I do want to HELP you all and hopefully make your time here a little more enjoyable!
A 'formal' intro will be coming next week (I think!). I've already had the pleasure of chatting with Dave, Rich and Cory? I'm really looking forward to meeting the rest of you, so feel free drop me a note here or shoot me an email (james@mobilenations.com).
For the past few weeks I've been shadowing Kevin, getting up to speed on everything that goes on around the Mobile Nations (there is a LOT going on, many moving pieces!), and as I get a grip on things I'll be able to work more and more efficiently.
To give you some background on myself, here are some bullet points:
- I'm Canadian. I live in Winnipeg? and YES, I play hockey (I'm a goalie).
- I was one of the original co-founders of CrackBerry.com. I've been involved with CrackBerry since the beginning, and have worked with MobileNations in some capacity for many years. Back in the day, I was the guy that did the original site designs, setup the forums, designed ads/graphics for the blogs and store, and more.
- For over 3 years I was an editor at IntoMobile.com.
- I was lead designer on the MobiHand.com team for about 6 years.
- I recently finished a contract with a local PR company. We built our own state-of-the-art TV studio, produced our own video and written content (in-house producers, staff writers, etc.)? Was quite the experience.
- I've founded other community sites. I've lived the life of an editor, moderator and site owner? so I have a definite 'overview' perspective on what takes to run and manage a community.
I could go on a bit but I'm going to cut it there for now. Just wanted to say HELLO! and introduce myself.
Talk soon,
James
