Help leaving a group chat?

Somehow i got into a group chat, and i can't leave. I keep asking them to stop texting me, but all they say is to leave to group chat, and im not sure how. i tried turning off the group chat option, but that doesnt help. Instead of getting all the texts in one place, i get them individually, but still get them.
This is really annoying, how do i stop it
