How do you make xbox music get artist pictures on its own?

they should just auto-download over time assuming you have a network connection and the xbox music store has an artist picture. I have a lot of foreign music so a lot of mine don't

I never got it to get the artist backgrounds on its own. Though for me, having the artist in my cloud collection seems to work for most of the artists. Do note that I don't have a Music Pass.

Definitely! Not to mention the app's performance. I really hope the come up with something alot better for Windows 10.

If your metadata is correct (artist name, album title, etc.) and the artist is somewhat mainstream, art will download & show automatically.

That's not good enough. Zune shows artwork for every single thing in my collection, XBM shows something like 10%. It's worse than pathetic for what would be one of the most used apps on most people's PC. Fortunately I can still sue Zune.

Maybe, but I think it's just album artist that's important.

Well I don't know what to tell you Susan, but complaining here sure isn't going to get you anywhere.

Metadata used/recognized by Zune (which I loved but has been dead for quite some time now, let it go) isn't the same as what Xbox Music use/recognizes. I'd imagine you have some inconsistencies.

I don't think so. There's a thread which suggested using Zune to tag your music collection. The tags Zune uses aren't the ones Xbox Music uses. But after tagging with Zune, not only did I get the artist backgrounds in the app, they also show on the live tile.

Same frustration here. Yesterday i use mp3rag software just to be sure im doing everything ok. So i did check every single song out of 500 in libary. Still same problem, for some there is album cover, for most of them there isnt. I did try two players from store(oneplayer, muzik player), they show album cover with no problem. So the problem is win 8.1 player.

It's never worked. Then they abandoned it and put the resource into a replacement for Windows 10. Which, so far, continues to have exactly the same problem.
Clearly, MS can't/won't fix it - you want consistent, correct art, use a better app/service.

I like live tiles on win 8.1 app, is there any 3rd app that does have that?

I found fix for my case. Its like this phone/music/some artist/untitled album,if its like this album art wont show up. If there is album name, it will show up. You can delete untitled album and just have song after artist folder. Worked for me
