Here Drive GPS Problem

I use my 925 with the Nokia wireless charger in my car and have My Commute on. However, the GPS tracking goes MENTAL while I use it. It randomly thinks I'm going the other way, doing 100 mph more than I am or just freezes.

Does anyone else use their 925 in the car, have it charging and experience no issues?

It's been to a Nokia Care Point twice and back to Nokia twice but they haven't been able to fix it. If I send it back again I should get a replacement, but I wanted to make sure it isn't a firmware bug before being without my phone for another 7-10 days.

I've been experimenting with this and if I use my phone while the phone is not charging then it's fine. The problem is always when it's plugged in.

Can anyone confirm that theirs works when charging?

My T-Mo branded 925 works great with Here Drive + for Nav when plugged in to charge...

Do you have local maps downloaded?

Yes, got them downloaded.

Thanks for replying. Now i know it's a problem with my handset and i'll send it back to Nokia to get it fixed

Hey,
I have a Nokia 1020, and had a 720 and a 800 before. Never had these issues, and given that I drive about 3 hours at a time, long distances, I need to charge while driving. In South Africa I have had issues with some towers causing my phone to think I am driving in small circles when in traffic, I turned the highest data signal off (ie LTE, or 3G on older devices), it resolved ALL my issues. I think the problem lies with only limited towers supporting the higher datarate. Hope this helps. - Maybe the wirless charging can cause interference?

I'm willing to bet it is that you have the AGPS turned on, which uses the cell towers to triangulate your position for better accuracy. At speeds in excess of 70MPH the AGPS feature can't get an accurate lock on towers which will throw it off.

The other question I have is where do you have the charging plate located? Your phone needs to have a 'clear' sight line to the sky, so putting it down below your dashboard in the console area will not give it a great signal to start with.
