When I had a 920 all the nav apps would drain faster than the charge rate. However, I had a few occasions where it was a wash. I'm not sure why sometimes it was a wash and other times a loss. I had a theory at the time it may have been lower screen brightness at night or on cloudy days. My other theory was slower driving may drain the battery less.

I don't think the charger will help any. Best solution is to get a 1520 They filled all the extra internal space from the screen size with battery. I also think the newer processor is much more efficient.
