HERE Maps Vs Google Maps Vs Apple Maps (Voice Turn-by-turn)

Here maps has great traffic data too, for some reason Nokia has not combined the two they are both free but are separate apps, Here maps I think opens quicker than drive but I use maps for traffic data I just open it up where I'm at and zoomed out slightly and it tells me traffic of entire city and its updated every 30 sec. I have never used waze maybe the interface is better but pretty sure it uses same traffic info as here if not then I would venture in the US that here has better traffic data that's one of things its known for. But when using drive you have to set it up correctly to get it to route with traffic. Its probably not as easy as waze. But I think they need to combine the two and makes it all one app and easier to use. But as far as traffic data and accuracy one of the best in my opinion.

The current version of Drive+ does have the traffic information built in. However, the issue is that the traffic information and rerouting to an alternative, faster route is not included in regular navigation, but only when using the My Commute feature. This would work for going to and from work, but it's not ideal when trying to go somewhere different each time I use navigation. Hopefully, Nokia will integrate real time traffic navigation for all parts of the Drive+.

I had used all three but i like here drive than another two bcz it give exact position. google map give. 90% correct position. Apple navigation is wrost not helpful bcz require 3g internet connection for navigation.

Thanks. What is the difference between My Commute and Here Drive?
Yes, you can download map data to the phone (by state/city/country) and going offline completely. Here Map is just map. Here Drive is the turn by turn negation app.

The city where I live in (Gurgaon/NCR-India) is one of the fastest growing cities in the world. Some hard roads show up as unpaved roads in the Here Map. When I use only GPS navigation it doesn't (haven't checked extensively though) give me accurate navi and keeps me on the bigger more wider roads, with the "cellular" on the navi is more accurate. Is this normal? I want to download latest maps of my city and state but Here update says it is fully updated.

Do you get the same results with "cellular on"? I have a feeling like yours, HERE Maps are old and they don't update it frequently. With mobile data on things would be different. HERE maps are accurate and won't put you off transit but yes they are old.
Seems like most posts here are about HERE+ Drive, not HERE Maps specifically. I like each of them and think they are OK enough, but why are we accepting the fact that the satellite map imagery in HERE Maps is nearly 10 years old??? And where is the 3d view? I use this app while walking to unfamiliar neighborhoods everyday for work, and need to rely on accurate photographic images.

Nokia Drive and Nokia Here are most superior navigation software today! Over a time i have used Drive/Here, IOS Maps, Android Google Maps, TomTom, Garmin and some others no name products. Drive/Here is very very accurate turn by turn navigation software with online search functionality. There is very accurate information about the speed limits and all other stuff. I have used navigation software a little bit over 10 years by now and theres no better navigation software than Drive/Here, others cant come even close!

Have you driven on every road? Or are you just talking about where you have driven?

In my opinion, Nokia HERE maps and Bing maps, have a lot of work to do... In either one of these, it has my home address and my work address WRONG! While google and apple maps get it exactly right! Don't get me wrong, I'm a die hard WP8 and Nokia/MSFT fan, but until they fix the addresses, I can't count on using these map services to find an exact address if my own home address is wrong. I desperately want this to be fixed!

See my thread on the topic here please. http://forums.windowscentral.com/ge...kia-here-maps-cortanas-geofencing-result.html

I think in the end it all depends on what part of the world you are in and the app. Here in Toronto, I find BlackBerry Maps (Tomtom), Google Maps, and HERE (mobile site) quite good. But I know in other parts of the world, BBMaps/Tomtom is quite bad. So it's hard to generalize imho.

In my country India HERE maps I feel is much better. The default voice navigation voice of android is kinda hyper and annoying. This is just one thing I noticed when I compared HERE to Nexus 4 Google maps.

Unfortunately i havent driven on every road but i drive every month about 10 000 km in Europe and that on all kinds of roads. Also i have used different navigation devices and softwares in the North America. But thats only my opinion based on my experience. So, be cool.

when you say maps, is that the name of the app if I go to android apps store, is it just called maps? Is that what works better than google maps. I am a newbie to this , maybe your actually talking about maps as opposed to the googlemaps app and talking about maps as in googlemaps on browser am not sure please could you tell mke what u mean just by saying maps your using to be better than googlemaps

Not sure where you are headed with this post, Eddie.

-Are you asking the name of Nokia maps on the Android app store?
-Are you asking if these other mapping apps are better then Google, or the other way around?

Let us know. We will be glad to help, but I am not sure what you are looking for and where.

As far as I have had experince, if I put my fan-boyism aside, Google maps are still the best. But I am not sure it is as large of a gap as it was even a year ago. I have followed Nokia, Bung, Google, and Apple maps in the past few months on their native devices, and where Google still is best is the shortest- route thing. The other maps are fine, but Google almost always finds a way to shve time off your drive.

Nokia seems to be the next best. I am not down on Apple maps- they are fine. Bing is okay on majors roads. Also, Bing Maps tend to be better off the computer as opposed to on our devices. Seems strange, but it has seemed to be the way it works.

Does HERE Maps have the option to download the map area to your phone if you are going off network like Google Maps does? I travel a lot over seas and this feature has saved me numerous times!
