How bad can the Icon get screen burn.

Without having glance screen, if I were to upgrade to Icon I would want to keep the home screen on all day to see when I have emails or other such messages since there is no other way than manually checking throughout the day to see if you have missed notifications.

It would be on the home screen 8 hours a day.

I currently do the same thing with my tablet and I have never noticed any adverse effects but just curious how bad this effects the Icon?

I would not recommend it. What's so hard with swiping the unlock screen and checking your live tile?

Has nothing to do with hard, but rather convenient.

If I am working I want to glance at the phone to see if I got new emails, or a company Skype message, or a text from the wife, etc.

I would rather not be opening the phone every 10 minutes to see if I got a new high priority email in the cases that I missed the notification.

My windows 8 tablet is on the entire work day with the icons showing and has never had any issues I can see, is the phone any different?

I find that using vibrate/ring alerts me fine of any important messages when I have the phone near me so opening the phone up every 10 mins is not an issue in my circumstance and if I am away from my phone for a period of time I just open it and check it

I wouldn't leave my phone screen on all day because of any chance of burn-in and the battery drain, maybe if and when we get double tap to wake when Verizon finally gets around to pushing out cyan maybe that is a compromise that people who have an Icon will be able to live with that enjoyed the glance feature on other Lumia phones

That would probably work if I didn't have headphones on at my desk all day.

I suppose Ill start streaming from the phone instead of the pc to deal with that.
