How can I delete email addresses that I have sent to in the past?

When I go to add an email contact to send an email to, I get a list of past contacts displayed. Most of these are one-offs and I'd like to delete them but do not know how to.

What kind of account is it? Microsoft, Gmail, Yahoo, etc?

Hi. It's all accounts, makes no difference. It's like outlook where you start typing and it lists any that match.
