How can I fix a brightness issue on my Lumia 635?

Brightness Issue

I had recently hard reset my Lumia 635 running 10586.11 and the brightness control no longer works. I then hard reset it again to see if that would fix anything but still, nothing was fixed and it was still not functioning. I've looked around the internet trying to find a fix until I heard about the new update so thought that would fix it, but, alas, it didn't fix it either. I'm just wondering whether anyone has come across this before and/or has any fixes to it.

Hello, Bill, and welcome to Windows Central.

Could you download the Sensor Emitter app (it's free, and it's not mine - you could download any other sensor app) and check if the ambient light sensor is still working?
