How can I get my Lumia 640 with Windows 10 M to turn on?

Please urgent Help lumia 640 on WM10 official release doesn't switch on

So I pluged in my phone to charge and when I came back after 2 hours, phone switched off and it shows charging symbol


I tried windows device recovery tool it asked me to update to newer version, and when I am trying to update it doesn't even install. So now I don't have device recovery tool on my pc. Any help ?

1) Uninstall Windows Device Recovery Tool from PC
2) Reboot
3) Reinstall Windows Device Recovery Tool on PC
4) Post back your results

Yeah thank you....device recovery tool installed....when I connect my phone in device information firmware version and software version is showing as unknown....Shall I install the software available on sever anyway ?

Yes. Just select the "phone not detected" option, select the model# and let WDRT do its magic. It may longer to download the 1.5GB+ firmware depending on your internet speed.

Ok tried the same already..... it says charging is 25% below and then it says your device is not found.....the main problem I reckon is my device is not getting charged

Seems obvious, but have you tried a different charger?

Is there a chance that you (or someone else) might have inserted the charging plug the wrong way around into the phone and forced it? Doing this by mistake is pretty easy and can mangle up the charging port on the phone.

Oh yes it seems I am the culprit here !!!! I did use different charger , because it always says device charging slowly even when I used microsoft charger. So this time ( I tried 2 or 3 times earlier too ), I used a turbo charger. So you say I might have forced it the wrong way ? then please suggest the solution ?

If the plug doesn't feel loose when it's in the phone, or isn't too tight, then it's probably ok.

You might need to get a repair organised through warranty.
