How can I get my Nokia Lumia 920, Accelerometer, Compass and Proximity sensors working?

Nokia Lumia 920 - Accelerometer, Compass and Proximity sensors are not working.

For an unknown reason Accelerometer, Compass and Proximity sensors stopped working, it happened few months ago, some people said I should drop from 20 cm on the wooden surface, and it didn't worked. Any suggestions? I have seen lots of people having this problem, and I still can't find a working solution. Anyone knows what causes this? Please, thanks.

Did you already try a factory reset or use the Lumia Software Recovery Tool to rule out a software issue?

The exact same thing is happening with me which the thread starter is facing...Need an expert advice from the top mods...screen not rotating...accelerometer,inclinometer,orientation sensor is not supported with my lumia 920...please help us out someone...

P.S i did a factory reset...rebooted...nothing worked

Did you already try a factory reset or use the Lumia Software Recovery Tool to rule out a software issue?

I did everything I could software related, nothing helped.

If you can download the hardware test app and chk what that says. It might be able to give you an insight with the issues.

The Gyrometer is the only sensor that is detected..and Accelerometer,inclinometer,orientation and compass..shows not supported on device after running the hardware test app....can this be due to faulty software update or hardware problem?

The Gyrometer is the only sensor that is detected..and Accelerometer,inclinometer,orientation and compass..shows not supported on device after running the hardware test app....can this be due to faulty software update or hardware problem?

I wondered if it was a software issue my self, so I flashed an Amber version to check, and it still wasn't working. I haven't flashed the older version though, but I remember that it was working with Black version fine.

When did this problem start and we might need details like PFD invloved? flashing FW and things like that. Is it still under warranty?

Have you tried downgrading it back to the black version? if it starts working again after that, your hardware is fine for sure it will definitely give more insight into things.

Looking forward to the details. This $#IT has intrigued me now. Hopefully we can figure it out.

P.S while I was looking it up it is apparent that many have this issue.
Check THIS OR THIS out. It is pretty much the same what I had in mind. Although this flashing business is easy as it is still risky and you might end up bricking your phone. Proceed with caution. Do read the last but one post in the first link. It might save you a lot of time.

Yes, PFD was involved, but I don't remember if it stopped working before or after using PFD. I'll flash this phone with Black and the oldest version when I find my self some time for it. I think warranty is voided because I flashed this phone. Oh, and I know everything what is there to know about flashing, I used to flash my old phone all the time, I know about bricking and stuff, I used to make Custom Firmware and stuff.

Update : I went to a nearby Nokia service center...The agent checked my phone..rebooted it...and connected it to his pc via usb cable..and started operating on it..He checked the sensors..and said its not working...so he removed the screen guard on my Lumia 920 n waved his hand over it...miraculously it did start working...so his conclusion was that the screen guard was the culprit....My 920 worked well for 4 hours.... all the sensors became perfect again..including the proximity and accelerometer..and the phone would tilt into landscape mode easily..To my surprise..the phone again had the same problem after 4 hours...I will visit the service center again tomorrow...will keep you all updated..

P.S I hope the OP keeps us updated with his share of experience..and the lumia black flashing

Warranty maybe void is the term. Most of the time if you flash it back to the original State with the original product code the service centre dont even check on it. I wouldnt be surprised if you send it in for repairs with a DP installed it might still get looked at. See how you go. you can even try the screen guard method, have black installed and try the DP updates on it. It is my best guess that it would be the best combo.

In one of the links that I posted above the screen guard was involved as well. Strange but I dont know how it is involved in it.

Yes...the service center ppl opened my phone..n said it was a hardware issue....the accelerometer and proximity sensor..r on the same lane..it would cost around 82 dollars to replace it...which is utter bull****...i dont wana spend that much just to see the screen tilt lol...i can use the phone normally without any problems...everything seems fine...If you wana see the screen tilt download some apps that auto tilt..or use reframe while using lumia camera..

OK, so I flashed with pre-Amber and Black, and it's a hardware issue, it still doesn't work.

Now that you have already flashed it to the original FW/OS walk into the service centre as it is still under warranty and get it checked out.
If they replace the parts they will anyway flash it to the latest version. If not a new phone will be supplied. While at it you might want them to upgrade your phone by paying a bit extra.

well problem solved then. Either get it fixed if not under warranty or standby your phone

and iam out of warrenty
