How can I keep my Windows Phone screen from inverting when the screen locks?

Whenever the screen sleeps or locks on my Nokia 1520 WP 8.1, upon waking it up, the screen displays as upside down. Input features still work as if everything were right side up, swipe from bottom to top of phone and the keys appear, poke where the numbers should be, and the input works correctly. It corrects itself after a few seconds, usually. It started happening after replacing a broken screen. Got a second new screen, thinking the first replacement was faulty. Nope, problem persisted. Been dealing with it patiently for months.
