How can I make Windows 10 recognize a written "4" when I use my Surface Pen?

I've been trying to make Windows 10 make a clear distinction between 4 and W, but it keeps thinking that I write W when I actually write down 4. I've run the recognition improvement tool several times and even deleted what was in there and started over, but it just won't turn my scribblings into a 4.
And yes, there is a clear distinction between how I write these letters and digits, so it is really Windows' fault that it just won't accept 4.
