How can I retrieve emails more than 6 months old on Surface Pro 3 with Windows 10?

I installed Windows 10 in late 2015 on a Microsoft Surface Pro 3. My emails now are available from only the end of December 2015 through the present. No emails show up before the end of December 2015. How do I find or retrieve these older emails?

Outlook > Inbox > Accounts > Change Sync settings and select 'Download emails from : Any Time"
