How can I speed up my Google Chrome browser with Windows 8.1?

Since I uploaded 8.1 on my Lenovo Twist, it's very slow, or will even stop altogether.

If I were you, I'd do basic housecleaning. Clearing the cache, cookies, and worst case scenario, reset the browser.
if that don't work, Id reinstall.
and still, maybe Firefox or IE are fine options

(and of course, the obligatory Internet Explorer plug you are guaranteed to get in this thread.)
