How to add location based meeting

Hey, I just really need to know how to create a location and time based meeting in Windows Phone 8.1. The other thing is how to disable birthday reminders on windows phone. Please someone help.

Re: How to add location based meeting

Welcome to Windows Central.

Were you referring to location and time-based reminders instead of meetings?

If you were really referring to meetings, then just open your Calendar app, then create your "event". In the process, you will be able to add details for that event, such as the time and the location. If you've got the location saved as a Favorite in your Map app, it should appear in the Calendar app as one of the location options.

If you were referring to reminders, then you need to have Cortana activated in your phone. For location-based reminders, have a look at this article/demo video. For time-based reminders, you may open Cortana and say something like "Remind me to do something in five hours." or "Remind me to create a Windows Central account on Friday 10 PM".

Thank you first one is what i was looking for. If you could also tellhow does cortana tell you to leave according to traffic alerts as it is shown in this video. youtube.com/watch?v=aUJfVZzxu3M

Re: How to add location based meeting

You're welcome.

Cortana used to "remind" or "notify" me about traffic conditions by telling me that it's time to leave a certain number of minutes before the appointment I've set. However, this was a few months ago; now I'm no longer receiving notifications on this. Other users are also reporting no longer receiving notifications for traffic. Cortana is still in "BETA" in a lot of regions, so some features may not be as reliable as we expect at this moment.

Yes, in post #2. There's also a link in that post, so make sure to check it out.

You can try a lot of ways of setting a reminder, you don't have to follow what I have said exactly... Cortana has been designed to be able to recognize some language patterns such that it can set a reminder by saying "Remind me to reply at Windows Central when I arrive home" or by saying "When I get home, remind me to reply at Windows Central". - the arrangement of words doesn't really matter as long as they are grammatically correct.

For appointments, you can say something like, "Calendar reply to Windows Central posts tonight from 7 PM to 9 PM at home". Depending on how it was said, Cortana may automatically fill in the details of your appointment, such as the appointment name (reply to windows central), time (7 PM to 9 PM) and place (at home). If "she" wasn't able to fill them all in automatically, she would ask you more details in a subsequent page, such as "When do you want to start your appointment?", and you can answer the question by saying the place and "she" would update the details automatically.
