How do I create additonal start screens?

Sorry folks, newbie here. I see people''s start screens and there are several pages. Does that happen from the accumulation of apps on the start screen, or can I create page breaks and group various apps on different pages?
Thanks for any help. I have tried searching and did not find it.

The start screen is just one continuous scroll down - you can fill it up with as many pinned apps and items as you like. The several pages things is people just taking screenshots at different points of the screen. There is an app that creates custom tiles that you can add text to to seperate and group your apps if you wanted or create blank tiles to creat the illusion of a gap. Other than that the tiles tend to close up the rows if you try to leave one blank

You can however set up Kids Corner as a seperate area that you acces by swiping right on the lockscreen.

HAS to be my biggest issue with Wp8, I like tiles but I hate having SO many pinned SO low. Would like a page system..so that I just need to swipe once to see all my news tiles etc..or twice for notes etc..
