How do I delete whatsapp Backups?

The app is consuming over 800mb of my storage space, I dont want to delete and re-install, I just cwant to delete the backups causing the huge memory hog. The app consumes so much space that often if another memory intensive app is open, whatsapp will not open. Lumia 920 user.
