How do I do updates with a factory unlocked phone?

Bonjour,

I plan to buy a factory unlocked 1520.3 RM-938 and use it on Rogers.
Then how will a get update? Will it by push to the phone automatically when Microsoft or Nokia(I know, MS) right away when they make it available? Or do's it work trough downloading files to computer and connect the phone to the computer via an user interface to update? Or other ways?

Updates for WP are OTA (Over The Air) only. No connection to a PC is required. Connection to WiFi is best for updating.

When you say your phone is factory unlocked I'm assuming it's not tied to any carrier? If that's the case your phone will update once the country variant update is released.

If the phone was tied to a carrier and then unlocked then the update will show up only once that carrier releases it. Easiest way to find out is by looking at Settings ->About
