How do I downgrade my HTC 8X using WP Recovery Tool?

Hey guys. I'm trying to downgrade my 8X with WP Recovery Tool. And i'm stucking at this step : It says that "Restart your phone. Hold Volume + and - to enter boot-loader mode. After that, my phone just stay there and do not thing. So please help me !!! Thanks so much.

You likely didn't hold the volume up and down buttons long enough. Make sure that you hold them until you see small type at the top of the screen and barcodes at the bottom. It will take a minute or so for the barcodes to appear. After that, you will see a 'next' button at the bottom of your computer screen.

My WP Recovery tool (updated in the recent days) does not even know the HTC 8X...

Recovery tool says Software package not found on server for me

Unplug phone from pc , do the +- trick then plug in , go the recovery tool app, but there is no software available at the moment
(not for my Rogers 8X)
