How do I fix frozen buttons on a Nokia Lumia 520?

I'm using a Nokia Lumia 520 and the search, windows, and back space battens at the bottom just stopped working. How do I fix this.

Have you tried a soft reset?
Restart your phone.Press and hold the Power and Volume Down keys simultaneously for 10-15 seconds. Release and the phone will restart. After this operation, you may need to set the date and time on the phone.
