How do I let cortana know which one of my contacs is my wife,brother or sister?

On my old HTC phone I had it set up (I think) where Cortana new when I said my wife I meant my contact Maria. I have gotten the new HTC M8 and everything is AMAZING!!! except I cannot remember how to do that.

Try "text my wife" and then see if she asks "who's your wife?"

I tried this a couple nights ago. I asked Cortana to "call my dad".. And she asked "who's your dad?", so I replied with his name, who is most certainly on my contact list, and she couldn't find him! Very frustrating... I gave up.

It's one of two things; inner circle (hamburger icon on the top right of the Cortana screen) or Facebook.

I don't remember which.

Set "Cortana" nicknames for them.

-Go to people hub.
-Click on contact you wish to set nickname.
-on the right side of that contacts "name" there will be a "+" (plus) sign.
-Click it, scroll down and you will see add Cortana nickname

You can set regular nicknames under that menu too.
