How do we get the audio working again?

My wife has an Alcatel Idol 4S. Recently the sound stopped working on phone calls, as in I can hear her when she's speaking, but she cannot hear anyone else talking to her. I've tried the obvious, like turning the volume up, but that hasn't fixed it. So, how do we fix this problem?

Have you tried Softy Reset? Hold the Power Button until the phone vibrates and reboots. About ten seconds. Factory reset would be the next thing to try.

We just tried that. Unfortunately it did not work.

i have oppisite problem, i can hear everything but need to shout into phone to be heard.
