How Do You Add a Phone Number Extension

Simple question. How do you add an extension to a phone number when creating a contact?

Simple answer Not Possible !!

If you can adjust with a workaround, then yes its possible.
Go to the contact choose edit again edit and then choose others and then use Notes :smile:

I may be wrong, and i will be happy to be corrected as i want this as well !!

I could be wrong also but I don't think you can, mainly because how would the phone know when to add the extension? If it puts in the extension to soon or before the call completes, then the extension won't recognize but if to late then the call may either disconnect or move to other extension options. Maybe there is an app but I just save all my individual extensions to the "Name" section if it's a work number so it shows up when I call them. Hope it helps!

You can put an extension in as part of the phone number in the contact. Add a few commas between the main number and the extension. The comma pauses the transmission of the tones for the autoattendant to begin then the extension will be transmitted. You can also add # if necessary and pin numbers if calling into your voicemail for example.

You are right, I just looked into it. Places a comma adds a 2 second delay to before the auto-attendant needs the extension. Try it out! Cool thing to know!

How do you place a comma? Only options I have except for the numbers are: #, * and . (a period). There is no option to place a comma. I assume a work around would be to enter it elsewhere and then copy and paste.

Just tried the work around and that worked!

To add the commas and pin for your voicemail, create (phone number commas and pin ex: *86,,1234) in a text then copy and paste it into the voicemail number and save it.
