How do you disable previews from notifications?

Totally new windows phone user here on a Lumia 950. I was wondering if there is a way to not show text previews or app previews on the lock screen? I want to get the notification but I don't want the text to show or prying eyes to see anything more.

Hard to explain but I don't want the notification banner to show the message itself. Only the fact that I got a message from the person. My iPhone did this.

How does windows handle this exactly, how does it work?

Thanks in advance!

Open Setting then tap on 'Notification+Actions' and then "Uncheck" box which set before the following words -"show notifications in action centre when my phone is locked ".

Welcome to the windows community. Hope you like your new love, Lumia.

That helps a little. Ideally I would like the notification banner to just say "text from so and so" or similar rather than the message itself. My old iPhone used to do this.

All Settings- System- Notifications & actions- scrool to Messaging and open it- check Keep notifications private on the lock screen.
Voila! ☺
