How does the "backup" works on Lumia phones?

HI, since i have to send my 535 to a reparation center this week i have to transfer all the data from it to my 435 and i don't know exactly how to do it.

I already made a backup of the data going to Settings > Backup, but how it is going to work? I mean, will all the data be downloaded on my 435 as soon as i enter the microsoft account? Or i have to do something more?

You'll get the data and content restored when you sign in with the same Microsoft Account on your new/repaired phone during the setup phase. There's no "restore" option, it'll just happen.

Just be sure you have access to WiFi as it'll make things easier.

Although it will ask you if you want to restore a backup and give you a list of the backups it's saved from various devices. If you don't select one then there is no further way to restore.....unless you hard reset.

thank you all, it actually worked very simply :smile: except for some notification settings, everything else was transferred correctly and quite fast
