How good (or bad) is Hike Messenger?

I want to know how good or bad is the app. What about battery consumption? and the notific ations?

I don't care about how many people are using it.

The app is pretty good imo, and you get 100 or so free smses each month and 30 or so for referrals. It would be worth switching if your friends are already on it.

I can't use the free SMS (only for india I think), but I don't really care.

What I want is a fast app, with low battery usage and realiable notifications.

it is a good app, but the today notifications are not completely reliable. Offcourse that is overshadowed by features like awesome stickers (localized indian ones are darn too awesome), secret chats, separate backgrounds etc.
