Hey all. I picked up a cheap 920 as I wanted to try out the platform and I absolutely love the OS but the battery life is utterly terrible. So I was wondering how the battery life is the 1520? I would be willing to pick up a 1520 if it could get me through a 12-14h day as Im lucky to get 4h on my 920.

It has the kind of battery life you'd expect from a good phone of this size. Fantastic. Not only did Nokia put in a decent battery this time, the Qualcomm 800 is actually efficient, and Lumia Black does wonders.

(By the way, a lot of second-hand 920s have horrible battery lives)

The 1520 has substantially better battery life than the 920. I went from one to the other and it's night and day. In a typical day for me I'd have to charge my 920 at about 7:30-8:00 pm (I work nights and use my phone a lot) and with the 1520 I'd make it through my shift (11:00 pm) and still have 40-60% battery left.

Agreed - battery life is good, even when browsing intensive sites a lot. I do feel that it gets hot and drains the battery fast, when gaming, but that's true of all phones, i guess.

I've gone so far as turning off mobile data and going down to 2g, and relying on wifi always on, for data; that's when the 1520 really lasts.

But then i no longer have to be out and about, so that works for me and may be an extreme case scenario for someone else so...

I really like the 1520 ;)

As someone who went from an iphone 4s, to a 928, to a 1020 and now the 1520, I can tell you the 1520's battery is phenomenal. It lasts twice as long as the 1020's battery if that gives you an idea. I'm a heavy user and i keep my brightness on high and most days I can get through the 14 hours I'm awake without charging it. I just charge my phone at night, and don't worry about it the rest of the time.

Problem with the 920 is most likely the LCD screen. I had the 920 which I switched to the Ativ S. I get about 30% more time from the Ativ. The battery of the Ativ is bigger, 2300mAh vs 2000mAh, but the main difference though has to be the screen.

1520 is great when it comes to battery life. 920 is terrible but. 1520 is simply amazing. I have everything turned on and it lasts a day. You won't be disappointed.
