How long does usually it take for Cortana to send a text through your phone from your desktop?

I really like using the Windows 10 Cortana feature where I can dictate or type a text at my desktop computer and have Cortana send it through my phone. This usually works within a minute of me sending it, but I tried sending three consecutive texts with the feature tonight and not one has been successfully sent after half an hour. Should I wait more or just assume they got lost? Have you experienced this?

For me it's been working within about 15 seconds. I've never had a delay, but if I use it once a day, that's a lot. On thing though is to check your phone, if it was sent it will be in the texts for that person.
