How many fans in SP2

Hello!

The title says all: how many fans does the SP2 have? One for the processor, one for the graphical GPU? One for both? others?

Is there a Windows option or a good app to monitor the temperature?

There are two fans inside the SP2. You can admire the SP2's internals on Microsoft Surface Pro 2 Teardown - iFixit

I use Coretemp to monitor the CPU temp.

Thank you for the link! So there isn't a processor-specific fan, but rather 2 general fans for all the "inside composants". Are they systematically running together, or separately, following the need of cooling?

The 2 fans cools of the Intel Core i5 processor inside the Surface Pro 2.
The other components don't need cooling at all.

Both fans operate at the same time, as needed, based on the processor temperature. If the system is not pushed, nor in a hot environment, the fans won't start
The fans are controlled via thermal sensors and can't be adjusted. The best you can do, is set in Windows power plan advanced settings, if you want the fan behavior to be more Active or Passive.
