I'm guessing that there will be an 100 dollar difference between the two at least. I say that because of how the 640 and 640 XL are priced. The XL is 250, and the 640 ranges from 80 to 100 (without any rebates). That is just US pricing of carrier locked models.

The pics I've seen don't strike me as premium hardware as far as looks.
If MS prices the phones too high looking like previous plastic phone models sales may be low.

Really?!?! What source did you see leak this prices? Those Prices are just wonderful... They almost touch the price of what you'd expect a 2 year contract price to be around... That's a competitive price

I'd love for them to be sold for around $400

I expected them to be around the same price of those phones, which Is why I was so surprised by what Guytronic said...

Although the exteriors to most don't look as premium as I guess the galaxy s6 or iPhone 6+, these two devices are according to leaks packing some impressive specs

Considering where the L830 entered the market at I don't expect anything below the $700 price point for starters, polycarbonate construction or not, MS will try and squeak out top dollar according to what the market will allow and not based on WP market shares, that is my prediction.

Hopefully you are right but I just can't see it, going by the trend here in Canada the top tier phones have been averaging around $700-750 for the base (16/32GB) and going up from there.

Look at the 830. AT&T tried to sell it for $499+ and people rightly laughed.

These they probably will target for 499/599 at first. If they wanted to get a lot of sales, probably aiming less than iPhone pricing, for 399/499 would be a better goal. After all the specs are mostly 1-2 years old. Alright, maybe a year old.

The MS store here in Canada still shows the L830 as $550 unlocked ($500 carriers), the price hasn't wavered one bit since its inception so we're not holding our breath it'll be anywhere close to that, even w/outdated specs... Any improvements (spec wise) over the "rumoured" will just drive up the price, guaranteed.
