How much RAM is there really?

I was under the impression that the 1020 came with 2GB of RAM, but when I ran Insider the other day it says there is only 1GB of RAM. Does anyone know for sure?

I don't know for sure but I've read some posts etc saying that the OS gets 1GB and the camera has the other 1GB dedicated to it. Not sure if that's accurate though.

I think it's pretty accurate. I mean, it makes sense why there are no apps that are 1020/1520 compatible only. Or less tombstoning. And performance is similar or even 2-3% worse than my 920.

Please elaborate. Does it mean that a 925 will perform identically in speed and smoothnes as the 1020 when using basic apps and random usage of the phone?

Absolutely, the extra gb is simply reserved for the image elaborati on, probably at a hardware level

The extra 1GB is hard wired to the camera. Which would explain why the OS doesn't detect it.

That's interesting. It doesn't say that in spec's or does it? Haven't read about ;D.
