How scratch resistant?

I'm patiently (lol) waiting for my SB to be delivered. The past silver Surface devices I've owned, S2 and SP3, have always showed scratches quicker than I'd like, which was one of the only disappointing aspects. For current SB owners, how is the clip board holding up? Thanks in advance :)

Got mine on the 1st day of launch and I've been using it everywhere (work, home, other). I babied it for a week (stowing it in a sleeve and a book bag case,) in fear that the finish would wear off eventually. I was even more worried about debris settling in the gap and marring up that beautiful clipboard when the Surface Book was closed in my bag. I'm happy to report it still look as pristine as the 1st day I got it! minus the screen smudges from my wrist. EXCELLENT build quality!

Weird, I thought they went to the silver because it was the magnesium color and not painted like the original dark colored Surface devices.

I consider that first major scratch or ding to be a badge of honor! Cmon, real laptop warriors know their machine is going to get all banged up and can't wait for that first one so they can breathe a sigh of relief.

If you want, send your Surface to me. I'll put a nice solid scratch in it, and even carve my initials in next to it. Then you can go on in life worry-free!

Sure it will get scratched eventually, that doesn't mean I won't avoid it. I'm that annoying guy who won't use a phone case, but instead puts his phone on a napkin at restaurants.

That's just really really bad. I had a surface pro 2 with terrible scratches and I handled it with great care, case + sleeve.

I thought the silver in the SP4/SB/SP3 was from the magnesium itself too. Gosh, why paint it if it's gonna be this low quality stuff? They make a device this premium but screw it up with the PAINT?

I must have had something in my bag because I have a 2 inch long fairly deep scratch on the lid. My bag is lined so that it wouldn't do that but there's no other way it could have happened. Oh well.
