How to clean Surface Laptop

I don't know about Alcantara specifically, but my Touch Covers from 2012/2013 and Type covers for pro 3 and pro 4 have all aged very well. If anything, just don't be too rough with it. It obviously wouldn't be great in a classroom setting with a bunch of high schoolers after PE, but I'm sure it would be fine in normal use.

My type cover from my Pro 2 actually has been quite easy to clean and get looking almost as good as new.

No issues here. It's going to work/last for years just like my SP3. But the article is pretty useful if you're new to the fabric on a keyboard thing.

Pour a few pints of mild (diluted) nitrogen acid on both sides
and neutralize it with KOH
then rinse with water
Finally use absolute alcohol (96%) to remove the water.
The alcohol will evaporate soon enough.
If the stain stays then grease it with molybdic grease
Remove the grease with soap
Add KOH first then neutralize it the mild nitrogen acid
Rinse with water and remove it with alcohol
which will evaporate.
If there's still some dirt left
Try electrocuting it with main voltage - remember to wear rubber gloves.
Note:
Don't use sand paper or a drill with sandpaper
The particles will stick to the surface of the Surface.
Also a pencil eraser (rubber) is not recommended.
Oh - and don't breath any fumes.
The rest of the alcohol can be consumed with a lot of coke.
Save the other dangerous chemicals for the next time properly closing the containers.
Warning: KOH spills may tan part of your skin thus causing an uneven skin color.
The same could happen with the mild nitrogen acid.
Grease and soap are slippery on the floor.
Don't ingest alcohol before you clean your Surface.

In my opinion, Alcantara only looks good with coffee stains. Most things in my home, like carpet, walls and my favourite shirts all have 'character spots' from my coffee habit. No one would believe the computer was mine if it didn't have a few drips on it.
