Windows Central Question

Win 10 recently updated itself and now my PC is not talking to my printer correctly or visa versa. Every time I try to print, everything looks like it's ready to go, except a box comes up saying "failure to initialize output device." I remember having this before, with Windows 7 but I don't remember what I did to cure it.
