how to enable 4g in india

Hi
please tell how to enable to 4g network in india
4g network not available right now... but soon our service providers start 4g service
but according to Nokia Lumia 1020 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
it has the 4g available for RM-875


my 1020 is under RM-875_im_india_230
and I don't see any thing regarding 4g in my Lumia 1020 black update

is it a problem with my 1020/variants/the network service providers

4g LTE is not yet arrived in India so you wont be able to set 4g as of now , but you can switch between 2g and 3G as of now by going into settings ->mobile network->highest connection speed.
once 4g is launched here , and it is approved by your carrier you will see 4g in highest connection speed

Yes i agree with you but if you remember when we don't have 3g network in India all nokia devices had option to switch between 3g and normal 2g network...and we were able to select/switch between... And if 3g is selected than there will be no signal/tower in the device...

There is switch available , select highest connection speed , but 4G isn't displayed since 4G signals / frequency is not available in india , you loose signal while using 3G because the radio frequency is very high and it is common for phone to become hot and lose signals

The Indian 1020 variant (or atleast the ROM) does not have LTE enabled, the hardware might support it though. You could try flashing it with a 875 ROM that has LTE enabled but I doubt it would be useful since LTE hasn't been released full fledged and the time is not even close (its being tested in Pune and some other cities). The max you can get is 3.5G or HSPA+ on the Indian variant 1020 which is decent enough

According to Airtel Airtel provides 4g in banglore using USIM
can i,use that Airtel. 4g usim in Lumia 1020

You can but you wont be receiving LTE but limited to HSPA+ speeds, unless you find a way to enable LTE on the 875 variant by flashing another 875 LTE supported ROM
