AFAIK Cyan firmware is necessary. Now I have Cyan with 8.1 GDR1 installed and no photos taken with built in app or Nokia Camera seem to have those little animations, which Nokia calls Living Images. Maybe I have to use Nokia Smart Cam like one of the topics below suggests?

You can't on legacy devices supporting dual-core. It will only work in phones having quad-core High End Pureview phones. E.g 930/Icon and 1520 ONLY.
According to Nokia,it had stability issues which I didn't have when I had this feature in 1020 on Nokia Camera Beta.
I just wished I never updated that app.

Thanks for info. Well I plan to upgrade to 930 or the next "flagship" anyways.

Your welcome.
Great then. Personally l recommend you t get 1520 as that phone is truly a FLAGSHIP DEVICE despite the size.
Once you get used of that size in just few hours, all phones will look tiny.

Normal photos but with extra frames taken so when you browse them on the phone you get a mini video.

Very disappointed. This feature worked great on my 925 earlier this year.
