How to enable the alphabetical shortcut under the app list?

I wish there is an app that allows me to launch the alphabet grid with just one click of a tile. That would be faster and useful since currently we need a swipe + a click on an alphabet to launch it.

I guess, the target number is 45, because I got it turned on when there are 45 items in the list, although I too did not liked it much, because this is unwantedly making a long list further longer. Better way could be to give an option of on/off for the feature.

I hate this as well, I would prefer a grid layout like Android's App drawer

I've got well over 40 apps and still no alpha divisions. Used to have until my phone went in for repair.
