How to give away paid app?

Hello all,

As the developer of a paid app, can I give away full versions for free? I searched but couldn't find anything like that. 2 use cases come to mind:
- my wife would like to use my apps; are my 2 choices really to either dev unlock her phone and load the xap from my development computer or have her pay for the apps, on which transactions I will pay taxes?
- some beta testers have been particularly useful and I want to gift the app to them, is there no way?

Unfortunately I don?t think so, but I?m not sure...

The only workaround I can think of is to create a "beta test" version of your app and make a new "beta" app whenever the beta is about to expire (I think beta tests last 90 or 120 days). Your "testers" would get the app for free, but it'd probably be tedious for them when they have to reinstall due to the beta expiring.

I have seen developers give away codes that when entered into the "free" version of the application unlock the features of the paid version. That said, I think you'd have to build that all yourself though.
