How to open .xap extension?

I have installed Windows 8 Pro x64. I wont know how to open .xap extension on this Windows.

.xap files are the installation files for windows phone, like .exe files for windows, so you won't be able to open them on your computer.

I know it is like .exe for Windows. I want open it, and not edit.
