How to restore old start/home screen after Cyan update?

I made a backup before updating to Cyan and right now my Lumia 520 is downloading all the apps that I used to have because I chose to restore the backup. Is there any way to get back the home screen I used to have back? I can't find the option to restore the star/home screen anywhere.

Well, if you were on the 8.1DP prior to the update, you should have an option to backup settings that include your Start Screen layout.

I did have an option to backup but no option to restore it once the update finished installing.

It's been a while since I did a hard reset, but it seems like once the apps finished reinstalling, I rebooted my phone (might have been a soft reset) and the start screen came back then. I may have dreamed it, though.
