How to silent text msges?

I have looked into every setting, I have my text msges on silent. And only vibration is on. Below are the pic of my settings.



Now here is a mind blowing part, it works only when my text window is not open. When I am texting with someone and the text window is open, I keep getting sound. wtf? and when the window is not open, then only vibration.

is there a way to completely silent texting? god I hope there is. Because it makes no sense what so ever.

Same issue on my 1520...Windows Phone is becoming increasingly challenging to stick with. Key banking apps leaving, Xbox Music debacle, the mythical denim update, and annoyances like the one you described that go unfixed.

So during texting if you get a new text you hear a sound?.
If so try in Settings > ringtones+sound > "play a sound for" > disable system sounds.

I don't think it's possible. It appears to be a design mishap.
