A lot of people need to bother HSBC if you want their app on our Phones, the amount of requests will lead them to finally make an app just like Natwest and other scottish banks

Tweeted. I'm switching to HSBC soon. Hopefully they'll do us a favour..

I wrote to First Direct about a Windowsphone App last week. They called me up within a few hours and said they would be passing my comments on to Mobile R&D. In the email I listed all the UK banks who have a Windowsphone App which is something they were unaware of at the time. So a similar response to Derek there but let's hope these all add up to them pulling their collective fingers out!

Im switching from HSBC - No chance of a proper mobile app ever coming from them - its hard work to get them to do even the smallest things for there customers.

HSBC and First Direct have shown no interest in developing an app for Windows Phone. They have been giving that same "no plans at the moment, suggestion passed on to development team" reply since ever.

First Direct is a HSBC company, so no surprise they have the same stance. Annoying at best!

This is an old there'd now, but nothing has changed... still very few banking apps in uk for wp8...I hound HSBC and first direct teams, but no, they say there is not enough wp8nusers to warrant the creation of an app, but who can blame them... Even Microsoft don't support wp8 platform... look at remote desktop, they supplied it for android and ios, but not windows phone... shows what they really think of their phone products...

I'm switching back to android, they have the apps I want, and so its a no brainer, sorry wp8, I had a fun year, but I need a smartphone, and not a power hungry GPS phone (most common thing I use phone for is tracking my position and playing music as there are little apps around)

MCT/MCSE - So its not like I don't work with Microsoft products, but this phone o/s is now causing me issues rather than helping me work...:crying:

Just drop by to say i also want HSBC app badly, but don't think it will happen. Not in this year or two anyway

Just got this fast reply from HSBC help.
Hi simon, thanks for your suggestion regarding the app. This is something we are looking at but I don't have any dates yet.^KE.
So they are maybe starting to soften.

A confirmation from the HSBC twitter account on the 4th April?
... we are developing a Windows Phone app, but don't yet have a launch date. Check our website for updates on this . ^PG
Source: twitter link

Although only two days earlier, they said:
... as you know the app isn't currently available on Windows phones. We will, however, continue to monitor the devices on which our app will be available. We can't however give you any timescales for development. Thanks ^AN
so maybe we should take this latest 'confirmation' with a grain of salt and wait until we have something more concrete.

Starting to get pretty annoyed with this now, every app which would be actually worth using isn't made for Windows phone
Sky Go
HSBC
King games
XBMC
Remote Desktop

and you can forget anything obscure fed up of seeing app store or google play plastered on everything. I have waited around 2-3 years for above apps to be made not sure I can wait much longer. The biggest crime here is Windows phone is better than the iphone and android devices just a petty its not being treated on a level playing field.

I have emailed HSBC about a Windows phone app a couple of times and I have tweeted. I received the same replies as everyone else, so I emailed again. This time they sent me a letter saying that they are not looking to make an app for windows in the foreseeable future. The windows mobile platform in their opinion is not big enough to warrant an app.

Tweeted HSBC and got:

We've no plans for this at present but I'll pass your interest to our Development Team. ^CA

Really strange. Other tweets, some as recent as today, claim they are working on it but have no timescales. I suspect it's not high on their priority list and looking at the First Direct app, I wouldn't expect too much. I'm in the process of switching banks; if a bank doesn't cater to my needs, why should I stay with them. It's not like I owe them.
