I just purchased my first Windows phone to replace my old android phone. I found the deal thru HSN (Home shopping network) for insane low price of $230. I latter found out the specification on their site are odd. They list the phone with 4GB internal memory and optional microSD slot. I do not think Nokia offer that. I called them and they insist that slot is there from the user guide. I cannot cancelled the order because it as been processed and send to the warehouse for shipping. I am not sure if I am getting the right phone now. If I open the phone, I cannot return it. I can return it without open it. If the phone is not 925 and "YES" I can return it. Should I just return the phone and order it from NewEgg (it is 270)?

The box lists all the specs for you to check before opening. I don't think they are selling some secret version of the phone. Its almost certainly just a messed up description on the web site. They have the bands wrong too. Someone just cut and pasted the wrong info. I hope for their sake, they follow up on your notification. Because with the wrong specs posted, any CC will cancel the charge if you show the product did not match their description.

If it's a T-Mobile 925, you should probably get the right phone. I noticed discrepancies on HSN as well, with them claiming the 521 has only 4GB of internal storage and that the 925 has a microSD slot. They probably mistook the microSIM tray for the microSD slot. I know when I was originally thinking of getting the 925 last July, the rep who helped me at a T-Mobile store claimed there was a microSD slot, but it was the SIM tray.

I just did some research and people has doubts about getting 8.1 update. I just need the VPN options and it is in the upcoming updates. I use less than 15 apps, therefore, this phone is good enough for me. I am debating if I need to wait. What is you opinion?

Jim, if you need a new phone, you definitely can't go wrong with the Lumia 925. You'll also have tons of space for stuff like music or photos if you only install 15 apps. You might want to wait a few more weeks just to see if the price comes down even more, though!

Got it, thanks. I think the price is within the range I am looking for, plus, I need the phone because my old phone freeze frequently.
