I just got a HTC 8X from eBay, it's running OS 8.0.10211.204. I tried to update and kept getting an 80070002 error. After alot of research I realized this phone is Security Unlocked and has CID-11111111. I tried everything from RUUs that keep telling me to get a newer nbh file. I really don't know what else to do or, if there is anything to do. Thank in advance for any information or help!

I've searched around for you and the only way I've seen that anyone has solved that error code is by a hard reset. Are you able to do that?

Yes I did a hard reset, even twice. Still no luck, I got it with high hopes of installing 8.1 and give it to my GF but, no luck. Tried RUUs and nothing. On the Store I can't even check for updates and Preview for developers requires a newer os version that I can't get. I'm experienced with Android flash but this is driving me insane haha

Yes, I've seen that. But I am not sure this phone is US. I know its a CDMA variant because the IMEI starts with 99. I thought it was Verizon but it doesn't respond to my wireless charger (and the Verizon variant has wireless charger). I tried Asian and Euro RUUs since there isn't a American to be found. Nothing works. I'm so disappointed with this.

Have you tried contacting the seller for clarification on exactly which variant it is? What they did to it? Can you get a refund?

Yes! I am waiting for a reply. But the model being shown in the bootloader is PM231xxxx and on the phone's housing is PM23200. I think it might be a Verizon because it has a Verizon named ringtone. Maybe this was a Verizon testing device? Because the Verizon variant has wireless charging capabilities for what I understand, and this one doesn't respond to my charger (missing internal coil maybe). But I really wouldn't care if I could update it, but absolutely nothing works. On Android, unlocked Bootloader and Super CID is the dream, on Windows Phone, that's a nightmare hahaha.
